This particular job is for a client looking for a triptych on a blank wall in a recently refurbished room. They were looking for something "farmhouse chic" with a simple color palette, including small personal references and flower imagery. They were particularly enamored by an image of rain boots containing flowers.
Artist's Note: These paintings are completed, but I am still awaiting photos of them mounted in the space pictured. Will update as needed.

The first stages of my artistic process after speaking with a client include:
- a mood board
- thumbnail sketches
- shooting reference
- creating mockups
This is so the person I am working for can know exactly what they're getting and how their commissioned piece will look before I even begin. After thumbnails, I begin to gather items, create a still-life, and shoot my own reference images, especially when it comes to paintings.
All of my references are shot on a Canon EOS Rebel T1i, and RAW files go through a rigorous editing process in Photoshop. From there, I sketch directly from my images onto canvas, stain with local color, and begin rendering.
