"Why Do Cats Purr?" was based off an article (provided by a professor, but similar to an article by "Scientific American") about how the frequency of a cat's purr can be used to not only comfort themselves and others, but it can also promote healing. This drawing is meant to depict this concept in the style of kitschy vintage Hallmark greeting cards, as cats seem to be a popular subject in this genre of illustration.
